BLUE CAVE TRIP

Biševo Island leaves everyone breathless. The combination of natural phenomena, sandy bays, friendly islanders, high quality Biševo Plavac wine, and other island products will remain in your memory forever.
The Island of Biševo is 5 nautical miles from the town of Komiža (on Vis island), and it is best known for its rare natural phenomenon, the Blue Cave.
The interior of the Blue cave and the sea inside it are illuminated with an indescribable silver-blue light. The rays of sun passing into the cave through a small crack in its ceiling are reflected in the sea, creating incredible light effects.
On the island there is also Medvedina špilja (‘Monk seals’ cave) – a cave where the Mediterranean monk seal used to reside. You can swim and snorkel inside the cave and see a small beach where Monk seals used to come ashore.
Sandy beach Porat- is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the island of Bisevo. It is secluded beneath the cliffs on Biševo Island‘s western coast. Above the beach there are pine trees which provide shade. The bay is crystal clear and it is a real pleasure to swim in it.

Departure from Komiza, Vis island. Only a 15-min ride by speed boat to Biševo island. When you arrive on Biševo at Mezoporat bay, you get off the boat and the skipper takes you to a small wooden boat (owned by a concessionaire), which takes you into the Blue cave. The Blue cave entrance is really small, so at a certain point you need to crouch in the center of the boat while the skipper manages the boat into the cave. Brief stay in Mezoporat bay, return to Komiža. Duration 1,5 approx. Since Alternatura as local company from Vis island, has so called "speed line" permissions, you will avoid waiting for hours in the line. In the high season departures from 8 am every hour.
